Dalr Process

The Studio

As a small, independant business, Dalr Jewellery is run at our special Cabin home in the countryside.

As a lover of small living, having lived in Vans for 10 years, Dalr is also run out of the back of my self converted old Postal Van which is a perfect mobile studio. As we love to travel and explore new places and mountains, the Van has become a perfect mobile studio for when an idea strikes. Being able to run Dalr on the road whilst visiting mountains and doing Rock Hammered work is perfect.

Method

Dalr creates Jewellery by a few different methods.

The original Dalr Classic pieces are made by using sheet metal and cutting, firing, sawing, hammering, texturing and bending into shape.

The more recent Dalr pieces, for example in the new collection, are made using a 6,000 year old method called Lost Wax Casting.

I create all of the Wax pieces in the Cabin, where I sip tea and watch all the nature surrounding us.

Materials

I source my Silver from a local sustainable company in the UK that provides Recycled Silver. I can send my scrap Silver back to the company for them to melt down and shape and send back to me, ensuring none of my Silver goes to waste.

I buy my gemstones from a local professional supplier in Cornwall.

Unique Designs

I am a very creative person with a desire to design and try new things, therefore I often bring out one off pieces that may not be repeated again unless requested by special commissions.

I do this to ensure that I am able to experiment and progress in my creativity and ignite my artistic ideas.

Made To Order

A lot of my designs are Made To Order to your size, making them unique to you.

I make sure to size the rings very precisely and accurate by using a few ring sizer mandrels that give me the exact size.
